Submissions and Proposals

Realistically, our plate is full for the next six months, but a good idea is a terrible thing to waste, so our ears are open.

Before you reach for the 10×12 envelope, though, please note this: we are not a publishing company. We do not buy books or manuscripts or ideas; we do not pay royalties.

What we do is help you publish your own book, e-book, web site, podcast, or whatever else seems to be the most effective delivery system for your project. You hold the copyright; you set the price; you keep the royalties.

We also reserve the right to pick and choose the projects we help. We’re not going to work with you if you’re publishing pornography or manuals for home-made bombs. We’re not going to help you violate copyright laws or commit libel. For the time being, we also can’t give you the kind of help you need if you want to publish a 400-page book full of charts, graphs, diagrams, photographs, and illustrations. We don’t yet have enough trained students to handle that big a project. It’d swamp us. And we will need a certain amount of time to turn your project round: each enterprise requires the involvement of a different set of students and faculty, and sometimes that takes a while to set up.

If you’re still interested, by all means send us an email at info@champlaincollegepublishing.com, no more than 250 words in length, outlining your book idea and why we should help you bring it toward publication. Don’t send us complete manuscripts. We haven’t got anywhere to put them. Yet.
